A dozen scouts showed up on Saturday, August 20, 2011 to get the entrance to their school in tip-top shape. It was a perfect day to get the scouts ready for going back-to-school, and making sure the front of the school was looking good. The scouts rummaged through the bushes in front of the school, and around the principal's office looking for the trash and other surprises that seem to not get noticed until you actually look for them. In total, we filled up two garbage bags of trash, and one 5-gallon bucket. The most surprising finds: A piece of wood from a fence, a 1/2 full tube of sunscreen, MANY plastic water bottles and even a AAA Battery. Many thanks to the scouts, AND PARENTS that showed up and help get the school ready for students on Monday. The scouts were so proud of their efforts that they even signed their names to a flyer we taped to the front door letting everyone know that the entrance was "Sanitized For Your Protection" by the Pack 12 Cub Scouts! |
